Nagad to Donate Campaign Earnings to Bangabazar Fire Victims
Nagad Limited, a prominent mobile financial service provider in Bangladesh, has pledged to support the Bangabazar traders who lost their livelihoods due to a catastrophic fire incident.
The Managing Director of Nagad, Tanvir A Mishuk, has announced that the company will donate all earnings from its ongoing mega campaign to help the fire-hit businesses recover from the severe losses inflicted by the recent fire, which burned their shops to ashes. In addition, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak has also declared a donation of Tk50 lakh to assist 100 traders, with Tk50,000 for each trader.
Tanvir A Mishuk expressed his sympathy towards the affected businesses, stating that he understands their pain and suffering as he also went through a challenging period during the pandemic when he had invested everything in Nagad. He further emphasized the importance of staying firm and unyielding during difficult times.
Nagad is currently running a mega campaign for the upcoming Eid festival, offering customers the chance to win a BMW car, a sedan car, and many other prizes. Tanvir A Mishuk has declared that all earnings from this campaign will be donated to the Bangabazar fire victims. As of Wednesday night, Nagad had earned Tk19,65,750 from the campaign.
Tanvir A Mishuk has urged everyone to extend their support to the affected businesses, whether by contributing from their own pockets or from CSR funds, or by reducing advertising costs. He has also requested people to donate to Bidyanondo Foundation, Mastul Foundation, and other humanitarian agencies through the Nagad app.
Tanvir A Mishuk believes that if the government and the private sector collaborate, they can support people during any crisis. He further urged Nagad’s family of 75 million people to stand by the affected businesses in any way possible.
