4-day International Plastic Fair 2023 to begin at ICCB
Starting on Wednesday, the “15th International Plastic Fair 2023” will commence at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital city.
The event, which will feature participants from 21 countries such as the United States, China, India, and Japan, will be open until February 25th. During a press conference on Monday, Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association President Shamim Ahmed announced that the exhibition would be inaugurated by Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun.
According to Shamim, the global market for plastic goods is valued at $570 billion, with Bangladesh’s current market share at 0.1 percent. He added that the country is striving to increase its market share to 3 percent. Currently, 5030 industries of varying sizes are involved in producing various products, generating Tk40,000 crore worth of plastic goods. The government receives Tk3,500 crore in revenue from this industry.
