Nagad to Distribute Training Allowance among 7,200 Women of Mohila Sangstha

Nagad Chosen to Disburse Training Allowance to 7,200 Women Trainees of Jatiyo Mohila Sangstha Project

In a recent press release, it was announced that Nagad has been entrusted with the responsibility of distributing training allowance to 7,200 women trainees participating in the Jatiyo Mohila Sangstha Sewing and Embroidery Training Project, under the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.

A tripartite agreement was signed at the Jatiyo Mohila Sangstha office in the capital city, involving Jatiyo Mohila Sangstha, the Directorate of Posts, and Nagad Limited. The agreement was signed by Additional Secretary Abeda Akhter and Executive Director of Jatiyo Mohila Sangstha, Deputy Secretary Syeda Meherun Nessa Kabir and Director of Jatiyo Mohila Sangstha, and Md Shafayet Alam and Executive Director of Nagad Limited, representing their respective organizations.

The signing ceremony witnessed the presence of Mohammad Monirul Islam, General Manager of Nagad, along with other senior officials from both organizations.

Under this initiative, each trainee will receive a daily remuneration of BDT 100. The total number of trainees from 30 upazilas across 50 districts amounts to 7,200. They will receive a total of 80 days’ allowance, equivalent to BDT 8,000, divided into three installments deposited into their Nagad wallets.

Furthermore, they will be provided with cash-out facilities at no additional cost, allowing them to withdraw the money from nearby “Uddokta” points.

During the signing ceremony, Md Shafayet Alam, Executive Director of Nagad Limited, expressed the company’s dedication to maintaining transparency in disbursing government social safety allowances, stipends, and various cash aids. He mentioned that Nagad’s track record has led the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs to choose them for this task.

Nagad successfully distributes 100% of primary education stipends and 75% of social safety net allowances, including old age allowance, widow allowance, Bede Community Development allowance, transgender community development allowance, Tea Garden workers’ living standard allowance, backward community development allowance, disabled allowance, and others. Additionally, stipends provided under the Prime Minister’s Educational Assistance Trust are also disbursed through Nagad.
