Kitchen, Bath, Living Expo Bangladesh starts June 8, 2023
The International Convention Center Basundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka will host the Kitchen, Bath, and Living Expo Bangladesh 2023, a three-day event set to commence on June 8. Nasimur Rahman, the Marketing Division Director at Wem Bangladesh Limited, revealed this information during a press conference held at the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Tuesday.
The expo is being organized by event management company Wem in collaboration with the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) and the Interior Designer’s Association of Bangladesh (IDAB). The inauguration of the exhibition will be officiated by Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, as announced by IDAB President Saiful Islam. Visitors will have access to the expo from 10 am to 7 pm daily.
Nasimur Rahman stated that a total of 70 brands from seven countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, United Arab Emirates, India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, will participate in the exhibition. Md Shahriar Zaman, the Marketing Manager of AkijBashir Group, mentioned that their company produces various internationally standardized kitchen and bathroom fittings. He further highlighted that nearly 50% of kitchen and bath fittings are imported from different countries to meet the local market’s demands. Additionally, he revealed that 18 local companies contribute to the market, generating products worth Tk5,000-8,000 crore annually. Furthermore, there are approximately 200 accessory manufacturers operating in the market with a value of Tk1300-1500 crore.

Shahriar Zaman emphasized the need to reduce import dependency and educate customers about quality products. The expo will include seminars on interior design and bathroom fittings to address these goals. He also appealed to the government to promptly resolve the prevailing gas crisis in the manufacturing sectors, thereby stimulating local industries.
