Siddiqur Rahman Appointed as Deputy Managing Director at Standard Bank

Md Siddiqur Rahman has taken on the role of Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Shari’ah-based Standard Bank Limited. Rahman’s appointment comes after his successful tenure as Deputy Managing Director, Chief Risk Officer (CRO), and Chief Anti Money Laundering Compliance Officer (CAMLCO) at Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, according to an official press release.

Rahman brings an illustrious career spanning over thirty years in Islamic banking to his new position. He holds esteemed certifications, including the Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) from Paris-based ICC and UK-based IFS in International Trade Finance. Rahman’s expertise also extends to the Certified Shari’ah Advisor and Auditor (CSAA) fellowship from Bahrain-based AAOIFI.

Educationally accomplished, Rahman earned his BSS and MSS in Public Administration from the University of Dhaka. He further augmented his qualifications with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and completed the DAIBB program from the Institute of Bankers Bangladesh. His pursuit of knowledge in Islamic banking led him to achieve the Diploma in Islamic Banking (DIB) from IBTRA.

Rahman’s commitment to professional growth is evident in his international exposure through training, seminars, and conferences. He has visited various countries including the USA, France, Italy, Switzerland, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, and UAE, enriching his expertise and expanding his global perspective.
