Walton gets nearly Tk250cr orders from local and overseas companies at ATS Expo
The inaugural ‘International Advanced Components and Technology (ATS) Expo-2023,’ the country’s pioneering sole-company industrial fair presented by Walton, has received an enthusiastic response from both local and foreign businesses.
During the event, which took place from August 10 to 12, Walton secured orders totaling around Tk250 crore from a diverse array of domestic and overseas enterprises, according to a press release. At a subsequent post-expo press conference held on August 17 at Walton’s Corporate Office in Bashundhara Residential Area, Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC’s Managing Director and CEO, Golam Murshed, disclosed these figures.
The press conference was graced by notable attendees including Walton Hi-Tech Industries Chief Marketing Officer Didarul Alam Khan, Senior Executive Directors Md Tanvir Rahman, Tofail Ahmed, and Mohammad Shahjada Salim, and Senior Deputy Executive Director Rabiul Islam Milton.
Golam Murshed, the Managing Director and CEO of Walton Hi-Tech, remarked during the conference, “Walton is the first company in Bangladesh to host an industrial expo showcasing over 50,000 industrial materials, components, solutions, and advanced technologies. The response we received at the ATS Expo exceeded our expectations. High-ranking officials from both government and private sectors, including the Commerce Minister, Planning Minister, Commerce Secretary, Philippines Ambassador to Dhaka, and key individuals from various local and foreign companies, attended Walton’s industrial fair. We are delighted and gratified by their positive reactions.”

At the ATS Expo 2023, Walton secured export orders valued at approximately $12.90 million for refrigerators and components from an authorized licensee of the global brand Hyundai in India, as well as a prominent electronics product marketing company in West Bengal. These orders translate to around Tk142 crore in Bangladeshi currency.
In addition to this, the ATS Expo facilitated orders of Tk50 crore for home appliances and components; Tk5.50 crore for PCB, PCBA, motherboards, mobiles, laptops, and accessories; Tk5 crore for lifts and accessories; Tk6 crore for fans, LED lights, switch-sockets, and DB boxes; Tk7 crore for shipping and logistics services; Tk2 crore for chemical components; Tk2.26 crore for VRF and air conditioners; and Tk1.1 crore for compressors and metal casting.
Furthermore, productive discussions were held with representatives of various organizations, fostering the anticipation of additional future orders.

Golam Murshed emphasized, “The trust demonstrated in the Walton brand and products at the inaugural ATS Expo will drive us to organize such industrial fairs in the future. We plan to host this industrial fair annually, eliminating the need for domestic industrialists to seek their raw materials, components, and testing solutions abroad. Bangladesh has now achieved self-sufficiency in manufacturing top-tier industrial materials and components.”
He added that the primary objective of the ATS Expo was to enhance the domestic industry’s empowerment by reducing import dependency through the provision of quality components, industrial materials, and testing solutions. This international industrial fair organized by Walton can undoubtedly be considered a resounding success.
The ATS Expo showcased over 50,000 industrial materials, components, services, and testing facilities manufactured by Walton, distributed across a total of 21 stalls across four categories. These materials are key components used at various stages in almost all types of industrial establishments. By catering to its internal demands and providing import-substitute quality industrial materials, components, and testing solutions to other industries within the country, Walton stands poised to contribute to substantial foreign exchange savings and the advancement of the domestic industry.
