Walton Plaza, Bangladesh’s largest sales and distribution network for electronics, electrical, and ICT products, has provided more than Tk32 lakh in financial assistance to a total of 119 families who have lost a hire-purchase customer or a member of their family.
Additionally, Walton Plaza has waived the remaining installments for the families in question, as part of its “Hire Purchase and Family Protection Policy.”
This unique policy is designed to offer support and protection to customers who purchase products through installment plans. Under the policy, protection cards are issued to customers who buy products on installment from any Walton Plaza location across the country.
According to Mohammad Rayhan, CEO of Walton Plaza, the company’s primary objective is to provide quality products and services at affordable prices. The Hire Purchase and Family Protection Policy reflects their commitment to social responsibility and customer welfare. He emphasized that Walton Plaza is the world’s only organization to initiate such a policy for hire-purchase customers.
Owahiduzzaman, Brand Manager of Walton Plaza, explained that under the policy, financial assistance ranging from Tk50,000 to Tk300,000 is provided to the nominee of a deceased buyer during the installment period. Additionally, financial assistance of Tk25,000 to Tk150,000 is offered to the family of the deceased buyer, with unpaid installments adjusted against the assistance amount.

One hire-purchase customer, Al-Amin Sharif Munna, expressed his gratitude after receiving Tk25,000 in financial assistance following the sudden death of his wife. Rangmala Khatun, a widow residing in Chawkbazar, Chattogram, received Tk50,000 in financial support after her husband’s passing. Her husband had purchased a Smart Television through hire-purchase from Walton Plaza.
Furthermore, Walton Plaza’s hire purchase protection card holders receive additional benefits, including discounts at hospitals, diagnostic centers, insurance providers, and restaurants across the country. The Hire Purchase and Family Protection Policy underscores Walton Plaza’s commitment to the well-being of its customers and their families.
