The ‘Bangabandhu Third International Squash Tournament’ has been inaugurated for the third consecutive time with the support of Ispahani. The opening ceremony took place at the Gulshan Club in the capital.
This squash tournament, organized by the Bangladesh Squash Rackets Federation, features both men and women squash players from Bangladesh and around the world, following the same pattern as the previous two editions. The event encompasses two international tournaments and three tournaments for junior players.
Ispahani has been the patron of this tournament since 2021, marking a significant presence in international squash. With this 5-day international tournament taking place from September 26 to 30, Bangladesh renews its status as a host for a PSA Tour event. The PSA, or Professional Squash Association, is the global governing body for professional squash.
In the PSA ‘Challenge Tour-5’ of the ‘Bangabandhu 3rd International Squash Tournament 2023,’ supported by Ispahani, the top six men’s players from Bangladesh will compete against players from countries including the Netherlands, Egypt, Iran, Kuwait, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, India, and Sri Lanka.

Simultaneously, Bangladesh’s top 14 women players will face professional women players from Malaysia and Sri Lanka in a satellite tour designed for women. Additionally, over fifty male and female players in the under 17 category will participate in the ‘3rd Bangladesh Youth Squash Competition 2023,’ a platform created for young players.
Challenge Tour matches of this tournament will be held at the Gulshan Club, while the Satellite Tour and Youth Squash competition will be hosted at the Army Squash Complex.
The semi-final and final matches of the competition will be televised. The first semi-final of PSA ‘Challenge Tour-5’ will be broadcast live on ATN Bangla on September 29 at 5 pm, and the second semi-final will air on the 30th at 12:05 pm. The final match will also be broadcast live on ATN Bangla on the 30th at 2:40 pm.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Rashed Chowdhury, Vice President of the Bangladesh Squash Racket Federation. The chief guest at the event was Ashraf Ali Khan Khosru, the Minister of Social Welfare of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Special guests included Mirza Salman Ispahani, Vice President of the Bangladesh Squash Racket Federation and Chairman of the Ispahani Group, as well as Irshad Hossain, Vice President of the Federation, and Rafiqul Islam, President of the Gulshan Club. The General Secretary of the Federation, Brigadier General GM Kamrul Islam (Retd.), and others were also present.
