Uber and the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) have teamed up to promote road safety. This partnership aims to enhance awareness and encourage responsible driving among Uber’s extensive network of driver partners.
As part of this collaboration, Uber will provide resources and guidance to its drivers, emphasizing the importance of following traffic rules and driving responsibly. The initiative is part of BRTA’s ongoing efforts to curb overspeeding and ensure disciplined driving on the roads. BRTA officials will conduct daily mobile courts, in cooperation with district administrations, to take action against traffic violations and discourage unsafe offline trips.
Nasheed Ferdous Kamal, Uber Bangladesh’s Country Head, highlighted the company’s commitment to safety: “At Uber, we prioritize the safety of our riders and driver partners. We’ve previously partnered with Bangladesh Police to raise awareness about traffic rules. Now, we’re partnering with BRTA to further promote road safety. We believe this initiative by BRTA will help make our roads safer.”
