Best Five Selected for 'Ispahani Mirzapur Banglabid' from Barisal

The Barisal division auditions for ‘Ispahani Mirzapur Banglabid-Sixth Year,’ the country’s premier talent-based TV reality show focused on the Bengali language, took place yesterday. This event was organized, planned, and sponsored by Ispahani Mirzapur, one of Bangladesh’s leading brands.

Held at Barisal Government Model School and College, the selection competition saw thousands of students vying for the coveted spots. After the preliminary selection phase, the top five Bengali students from the Barisal division were chosen to advance to the main stage in Dhaka.

‘Ispahani Mirzapur Banglabid,’ now in its sixth year, aims to promote Bengali culture, correct pronunciation, and proper spelling and usage among the new generation. The Barisal division qualifying round began at 9 a.m.

Assistant Professor and Chairman of the Bangla Department at Barisal University, Unmesh Roy, and traditional reciting artist Mahidul Islam served as judges for the competition. The awards were presented to the winners by the Commissioner of Barisal Division, Shaukat Ali, along with Ispahani Tea Limited Wing Manager Mohammad Emdadul Islam.

The top 20 contestants were initially selected based on a 40-mark multiple-choice test covering literature and grammar, as well as a 30-mark perceptive question section. From these, the judges evaluated pronunciation, spelling, and grammar skills to select the top five contestants who will proceed to the main event in Dhaka.

The competition culminates in Dhaka, where the best Bengali student in the country will be awarded a merit scholarship of Tk 10 lakh. The second and third place winners will receive merit scholarships of Tk 3 lakh and Tk 2 lakh, respectively. Additionally, the top ten contestants will each receive a laptop and a bookcase worth Tk 50,000 to help them build a personal library.
