The Puma brand was founded in 1948 by a German named Rudolf Dazzler. They currently have businesses in more than 120 countries. Their number of employees is 14,300. Last year, 139 suppliers from 31 countries produced Puma products. About 35 percent of the brand’s footwear and other products are made in Vietnam and 26 percent in China. Bangladesh is the third-highest supplier of Puma (especially clothing) at 14 percent. In 2016 it was 13 percent.
Interestingly, Rudolf Dazzler and his older brother Adolf Dazzler founded the Dazzler Brothers Shoe Factory, a shoe-making company in 1920 in Herzgen, Germany. Their company is very popular.
Famous runner Jesse Owens used their shoes. The popular American athlete rose to international fame by winning gold medals in the 100m, 200m, long jump, and 400m relay at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. Such was the state of affairs at the Dazzler Brothers shoe factory.
