Akij Ceramics presents Building Materials Marketing Fest 3.0 powered by BSRM & SSG in association with Akij Cement and initiative of Brand Practitioners Bangladesh, came to a close with huge success at the Grand Ballroom of Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel.
This marquee event brought together thinkers, marketing professionals, and industry experts to take up critical challenges and explore innovative strategies for Bangladesh’s construction and building materials sector.

The opening session, Market Dynamics and Emerging Trends in the Construction and Building Materials, explored the changing landscape of the industry. The panelists were S. M. Arafatur Rahman, DGM & Head of Marketing, RAK Ceramics; Abdullah Al Mamun, Deputy General Manager – Marketing & Business Development, Super Star Group (SSG); Md. Fahim Hossain, Head of Brand Marketing & Communication, Anwar Group of Industries; and Md. Rashedul Islam, Country Sales Manager (Bangladesh & Nepal), Hansgrohe. It was moderated by Golam Rabbani, Brand Lead, Akij Bashir Group (ROSA).
The Research Point of View – Painting Connections was presented by the second speaker of the day, Dr. A. S. M. Obaidullah Mahmud, Chief R&D Officer, Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd. who talked about how Berger Paints is bringing a change in customers’ satisfaction through innovation and personalization.
The third session, Effective Catering in Communication – Fragmented Media, AI, and Building Materials, focused on advanced strategies in communication and AI shaping the future of the industry. It was moderated by Syeda Umme Salma, CEO, BrandGear, and the panelists were Salahuddin Shahed, CEO, FCB Bitopi; A. K. M. Nurul Haque Sumon, Creative Director, SWISH; Hossain Shah Newaz, Deputy General Manager – Marketing, Super Star Group (SSG); Munir Ahmed Khan, Managing Director, Unitrend Ltd.; and Zubaid Russell, Deputy General Manager – Marketing, Akij Bashir Glass.
The keynote session, “Strengthening Bangladesh Together,” was contributed by Masud Khan, Chief Advisor to the Board, Crown Cement. He, too, focused on the spirit of collaboration, innovation, and sustainability as driving forces for national progress by highlighting the development of infrastructure in which the cement industry played a major part.
In the session, Construction Mart – Everything Construction, Inside and Out, Major General (Retd.) Wahid-Uz-Zaman, Managing Director, Construction Mart, shared his insights on how integrated approaches are bringing a sea change in the construction industry and whereabouts of ConstructionMart.
The sixth session, Steering the Building Materials Industry Forward, provided a roadmap for negotiating challenges and leveraging opportunities in the industry. The session was moderated by Atiq Akbar, Head of Brand and Marketing Communications, Seven Rings Cement, while the panelists were Md. Moshiur Rahman, CEO, Akij Cement; Asadul Haque Sufiani, Chief Business Officer, Metrocem Cement; Galib Mohammad, CEO, Akij Steel and Irfan Uddin, General Secretary, Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturers and Exporters Association.
The concluding session was on new ways of strategy marketing in Redefining Marketing Approaches for a Robust Building Materials Market. The session was moderated by Sumaiya Mutiatur Rasul, Managing Editor, CMO Bangladesh, and Head of Communication, UIU. The panelists were Mohammad Towfique Hasan, Chief Business Development Officer, Akij Resource; Shamim Uz Zaman, CMO, Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd.; Atique Akbar, Head of Brand and Marketing Communications, Seven Rings Cement; Sayed Taslim Mahmood Ullash, Head of Business, Construction Mart; and Shahriar Zaman, Head of Marketing, Akij Bashir Group.
