Banglalink has become the first mobile network operator in Bangladesh to introduce solar power at its data centre, marking a landmark step in the country’s sustainable digital transformation.
The operator has installed an 80KW solar power system at its Gazipur Data Centre, covering 9,000 sq ft of unused rooftop space. The system is expected to generate 0.13 gigawatt-hours of clean energy annually, cutting carbon emissions by 60 tonnes and saving about USD 12,600 in energy costs each year.
