Anisa Murshed can create the longest beaded thread in an hour.
Anisa Murshed is a 20-year veteran bead artisan from Bangladesh. She began practicing bead art on her own when she was just ten years old and eventually became an expert.
As part of her initiative to promote bead art and her proficiency in this subject, Anisa broke the Guinness World Record for the “Longest Thread of Beads Made by an Individual in One Hour” on August 12, 2022. After examining the information, Guinness released an official statement on November 1.
Anisa is the only Bangladeshi woman remaining in possession of a Guinness World Record for an individual feat.
Anisa, a marketing specialist by profession, started her passion project “Hey AniSay” in 2021 to display creatively distinctive and millennial styles of bead art.
Breaking a Guinness World Record is a monumental job that requires months, if not years, of planning, submission, and proofing of the evidence.
Anisa made a beaded thread that measured 42.3 meters and contained 1,671 beads in total. Anisa successfully broke the previous record for the same title of 32.7 meters and declared herself to be “Officially Amazing” by nearly 10 meters!
Less than ten people from Bangladesh have won Guinness World Records.
“Due to the fact that bead art is not a very well-liked type of craft, the ingenuity, effort, and time put into a piece are sometimes neglected. Particularly in Bangladesh, where handcrafted goods do not consistently receive the respect they merit. Beading is an activity that fosters patience, attention, and patience as well as creativity. Through my projects, I hope to motivate Bangladeshi artisans to pursue their passion for beadwork, make a living at it, and eventually spread local bead art initiatives over the globe.” Anisa says.
