5th BMCCI LegalTalk seminar on tax law, foreign investment held

On Saturday, the Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) organized the 5th LegalTalk seminar on tax law and foreign investment issues in the capital.

Barrister Tanjib Alam, head of the chamber of Tanjib Alam and Associates, discussed the issues.

BMCCI Secretary General Md. Motaher Hoshan Khan welcomed the participants. In his speech, he said that foreign investors do not consider Bangladesh an emerging market. At the same time, other companies that have invested in Bangladesh are discouraged by their past bitter experiences.

“Our country’s investment-related laws are contradictory, which makes it difficult for investors to get their profits. The unprofessional behavior of government departments also discourages investors,” he added.

At the end of the programme, BMCCI President Syed Almas Kabir and the guests distributed certificates to the participants.
