Gulf Oil Bangladesh got off to a great start in 2023 when cricket star Shakib Al Hasan took over as CEO for a day on January 4. The 35-year-old all-rounder once again showed his management skills and agility as he took on the role of leading the company, according to a press release.
Shakib begins his journey with Gulf Oil Bangladesh in 2019 as the brand ambassador. Since then, he has played a significant role in the brand’s growth.
His involvement has helped the brand achieve success. Shakib’s relationship to the brand and his desire to learn more about how the company works led to this opportunity. He was overjoyed when offered the chance to be the CEO for a day.
Test Cricket Captain for Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan, spoke about his experience saying: “I was always curious to understand how a corporate CEO works and how business is managed in an MNC. When I got the opportunity, I didn’t hesitate to say yes.”
“There’s a lot that goes into building a business and taking it to new levels of success. As a key decision maker for the company, the CEO has a lot of responsibility and this role wasn’t easy at all. But it was an unforgettable experience and I’m taking away a lot of valuable lessons that I can use in the future – both on and off the field,” he added.
A delightful day was had by all when Shakib took charge as the new CEO, much to the surprise of the employees. His energy was visible and infectious, not just to employees but also to partners and other stakeholders.
