Nagad Islamic will be providing certified glycerine to worshippers at the Bishwa Ijtema so that they do not suffer from a biting cold.

Anyone can open a Nagad Islamic account and avail of cash-in, cash-out, and other services at the booth. If a worshipper opens a new account at Bishwa Ijtema, they will receive a mobile recharge of Tk20 as a gift.

The Islamic accounts of Mobile Financial Service provider Nagad, an arm of Bangladesh Postal Department, are fully managed under the supervision of a Shariah Supervisory Committee.

Through Nagad Islamic MFS accounts, customers can easily manage their own funds in a Shariah-compliant manner, maintaining their religious values and principles.

Customers wishing to avail of Islamic services can convert their regular “Nagad” accounts into Islamic accounts. To do so, they need to go to the “My Nagad” option in the Nagad app and click “Account Type”. This will change the running app to an Islamic account.

Customers will know that their account has been successfully converted to an Islamic account only when their Nagad app turns green.

Customersof Nagad Islamic accounts can transact their money without any interest, as it is managed according to Islamic Shariah.

Nagad, an Islamic financial institution, has launched a digital service for calculating and paying Zakat, the Islamic donation tax. Customers can also make their Islamic life insurance payments through their Nagad accounts.

Mohammad Aminul Haque, member of Shariah Supervisory Committee of Nagad and executive director of Nagad, said: “We have taken this small initiative to assist devout Muslims coming to Bishwa Ijtema.”
