Huawei-Buet ICT Academy starts its journey with first batch
The current batch of students is studying Routing and Switching (IP Networks) and 5G (Cellular and Mobile Networks). This curriculum will prepare them for a career in network administration or engineering.
The first training program of the Huawei-Buet ICT Academy will start on Thursday. The duration of the training is five months and it will be held at the academy situated in ECE building of Buet.
A launching ceremony was held at the Buet campus to mark the occasion. Dr. Satya Prasad Majumder, Vice-Chancellor of Buet, was the chief guest, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Quazi Deen Mohd Khosru, Dean of the Faculty of EEE at Buet; Dr. Md. Aynal Haque, Head of the EEE Department at Buet; Prof. Dr. Md Rubaiyat Hossain Mondal, Director and Professor at IICT, Buet; and Jason Li, Board Member at Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited.
“It is the right time for us to substantially equip our youth with all necessary, industry-fit, ICT skills,” said Vice-Chancellor of Buet, Prof Dr Satya Prasad Majumder. “In such a situation, the Huawei Buet ICT Academy comes as a timely initiative, helping our young learners develop themselves in the field of ICT and taking Bangladesh closer to its Smart Bangladesh vision.”
Jason Li, board member of Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh), said that the Huawei ICT Academy is a school-enterprise cooperation project that has been designed to develop the talent ecosystem in Bangladesh. The academy provides young learners with the practical skills necessary to succeed in the field of information and communications technology (ICT).
Jason Li, Board Member of Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh), stated that the Huawei ICT Academy has been established with the goal of developing talent in Bangladesh through practical skills training in the field of information and communications technology. He believes that this partnership with Buet will contribute significantly to Bangladesh’s efforts to create a skilled workforce in ICT to meet the challenges of the future.
The curriculum for the ongoing batch covers Routing and Switching (IP Networks) and 5G (Cellular and Mobile Networks), and gradually the academy will cover 83 certification programs on 19 different subjects in further courses.
The course and certification will be coordinated by Huawei Authorized Information and Network Academy (HAINA). The participants will have the opportunity to communicate with more than 3,000 instructors from around the world.
