On Friday, January 27th, the President of the farm equipment sector for Mahindra & Mahindra, Hemant Sikka, unveiled a new tractor series at the Indo-Bangladesh Agri Mechanization Summit 2023 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital.

Local distributor Rancon Group’s Managing Director, Romo Rouf Chowdhury, and Karnaphuli Group’s Automobile Coordinator, Araj Chowdhary, were honored guests at the event.

From the new fleet of next generation Yuvo tractor series, the world’s largest tractor manufacturer, Mahindra & Mahindra, launched the Mahindra 575 DI Yuvo Tech plus and 585 Yuvo Tech plus, both in the 45 HP to 50 HP category.

The Yuvo Tech plus tractor features 12F (forward) and 3R (reverse) transmission technology, with a 3-speed range option that allows farmers to adjust gear speeds according to different soil types and agricultural applications.

During the launch event, Hemant Sikka stated, “The advanced engine technology, transmission, and hydraulics of the Yuvo Tech plus make it the most technologically advanced tractor in its class. Our goal is to provide the best productivity, comfort, savings, and earning potential for the highly ambitious farmers of Bangladesh.”

He added, “The agriculture sector must be modernized to meet the increasing demand for food. By applying technology in cultivation, we can ensure the optimal use of arable land.”

On the occasion, Mahindra’s Head of International Operations and Vice President, Sanjay Jadhav, Senior Vice President, Ramesh Ramachandran, Executive Director of Rancon Agro Machinery, Sultanuzzaman Sazan, and Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector Country Head, Sourabh Biswas were also present.

Romo Rouf Chowdhury, the Managing Director of Rancon Group, informed The Business Standard that they are offering a five-year installment plan to make the technology more accessible for farmers. The cost of the newly launched tractors will be announced in the near future, he added.
