Mexico hopes Tesla investment will be announced soon
According to Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard, Mexico is eagerly awaiting the official announcement of Tesla’s investments in the country. In a recent conversation with a group of international journalists, Ebrard confirmed that Tesla has expressed an interest in establishing an office in Mexico.
The Foreign Minister explained that the Mexican government is now only waiting for a location decision by the electric car company. Ebrard went on to say that the decision may not last much longer.

Mexico is looking forward to the investment as it has high hopes for the EV shift. The country is targeting the northern state of Sonora, which is a prime location for the exploration of lithium deposits for the production of electric car batteries and other technologies.

Ebrard recently visited Sonora with several ambassadors for a tour of a large solar farm being built in the state’s desert. During the visit, Ebrard emphasized Mexico’s commitment to renewable energy and welcomed foreign investment in these projects. The Secretary of State believes investments like this will play a significant role in Mexico’s future growth and development.
