ACI Introduces New Tools for Japanese Rooftop Gardening
ACI Fertilizer has announced its plans to introduce a range of tools and equipment for the popular Japanese rooftop gardening system called ‘Midori-chan’ in Japan. Recognizing the importance of rooftop gardening in creating a greener and more sustainable urban landscape, ACI aims to support this eco-friendly initiative.
A partnership agreement was recently signed between ACI and Marubeni Corporation, a Japanese business group, during a ceremony held at ACI’s Tejgaon office in the capital. The collaboration aims to promote and facilitate the adoption of the ‘Midori-chan’ system, which was developed by the renowned Kawada Group in Japan.
The ‘Midori-chan’ system offers several benefits, including the reduction of city temperatures, protection of roofs, and mitigation of air pollution. According to a press release, the installation of this system can effectively lower the ambient temperature around buildings by up to 5 degrees, leading to significant savings in air conditioning costs.
Furthermore, the system minimizes water consumption for gardening and provides roof protection against harsh weather conditions. It operates by collecting natural rainwater in a tray located under the shade of trees, allowing plants to absorb water based on their specific needs. This versatile system can accommodate various plant species, making it suitable for a wide range of gardening applications. ACI Fertilizer aims to make the ‘Midori-chan’ system accessible and affordable for interested individuals and organizations.
Bashir Ahmed, the business director of ACI Fertilizer, emphasized the advantages of the ‘Midori-chan’ system, highlighting its ability to reduce temperatures and irrigation requirements. In addition to its environmental benefits, the system helps maintain clean and fresh air, contributing to a healthier urban environment.
