Previously, local consumers seeking large-scale tiles often had to rely on imported options, which were typically more expensive and limited in design. Akij Ceramics is addressing this market gap by offering a locally produced line of 100×100-centimeter tiles that meet and exceed international standards in both design and durability.

This high-quality alternative provides consumers with a competitive option without the need to resort to foreign imports. The Bangladeshi tile industry has seen remarkable advancements, with leading manufacturers driving progress in recent years.

With this new launch, Akij Ceramics continues to set new benchmarks by blending aesthetic appeal, functional performance, and exceptional craftsmanship. The global demand for large tiles, specifically 100×100 centimeters (or 1,000×1,000 millimeters), has surged, reflecting a preference for larger floor tiles that contribute to a seamless, luxurious look in various spaces.

Currently, Bangladesh hosts 31 ceramic tile manufacturing facilities, with a combined annual production capacity of 2.07 million square meters. In the fiscal year 2022-23, the country sold approximately $633 million worth of tiles, with domestic production meeting 80% of total demand.
