Bank Asia and Khulna University Sign MoU to Boost Agricultural Productivity
On March 5th, Bank Asia Limited and Khulna University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance productivity in Bangladesh’s agricultural sector.
The bank’s Senior Executive Vice President Tahmidur Rashid signed the MoU, which is part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, alongside Khulna University Treasurer Professor Amit Roy Chowdhury at a ceremony on the university’s campus, according to a press release.
The agreement stipulates that Bank Asia will provide support to Khulna University for a research project titled “Introducing Novel Crop Residue Management Approaches for Improving Soil Structure and Crop Productivity in the Coastal Saline Soils of Bangladesh.”
The Soil, Water, and Environment discipline at Khulna University will conduct the research project with the goal of boosting agricultural production in the country.
Adil Chowdhury, President and Managing Director of Bank Asia, and Prof Mahmood Hossain, PhD, Vice-Chancellor of Khulna University, along with other high-ranking officials from both organizations, attended the MoU signing ceremony.
