Barvida leaders meet BRTA Chairman
The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority was requested by Barvida (Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicles Importers and Dealers Association) to rationalize the car registration prices that had been increased by an order last week.
According to a press release, Barvida also advocated the destruction of the nation’s current “dual registration system,” which applies to car buyers and importers separately.
The ideas were presented during a meeting on Tuesday morning at BRTA Bhaban between the Barvida leaders and Chairman Nur Mohammad Majumder.
In order to create a healthier Dhaka, the Barvida delegation asked the BRTA Chairman to progressively phase out the 15 to 20-year-old automobiles from the city. The group was led by Md. Habib Ullah Dawn, the president of Barvida. The Barvida leaders likewise asked BRTA to incorporate Barvida into the procedure for registering vehicles.
Executive members Mohd Saiful Islam (Samrat), Abu Hossain Bhuiyan (Ranu), and Punom Sharmin Jhilmil, as well as general member Akter Hossain Mazumdar, attended the meeting. Also present were Barvida Secretary General Mohammed Shahidul Islam, Vice Presidents Md Aslam Serniabath and Reaz Rahman, Treasurer Mohammed Anisur Rahman, and Vice Presidents 1 and 2 of the organization.
The BRTA Chairman welcomed the Barvida recommendations and told them that they will be implemented following the proper review. The meeting was also attended by senior BRTA executives.
