The Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University (BDU) and Walton have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen their collaboration in various areas. This partnership includes industry-academia collaboration, joint research and innovation, a campus ambassador program, internship and placement initiatives, lab development, advanced technology production, and addressing industry-specific challenges.
The MoU was formalized during a signing ceremony held on September 3rd, 2023, at the university’s administrative building in Kaliakoir, Gazipur.
Representatives from both organizations signed the agreement: Dr. Nasir Uddin, Registrar of BDU, and Liakat Ali, Additional Marketing Director at Walton.
The event saw the participation of key figures from BDU, including Vice-Chancellor Muhammad Mahfuzul Islam, Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md Mahbubul Alam Joarder, Treasurer Professor Dr. Md Anwar Hussain, and other officials. Walton’s Chief Business Officer, Touhidur Rahman Rad, also spoke at the ceremony.
From the Walton team, several members, including Md Tanjimul Haque Tanmoy (First Senior Additional Director of Marketing and Sales Division), AKM Taufiq Imam Hossain (Head of Corporate Sales), Md Fuad Rahman Faisal (First Senior Assistant Director), and Jahidur Rahman Jitu (Senior Principal Officer), were present.

Moreover, BDU’s Internet of Things and Robotics Engineering Department Chairman and Assistant Professor Samchuddin Ahmed, along with Educational Technology Department Chairman and Assistant Professor Md Ashrafuzzaman, attended the event.
The coordination of the MoU signing ceremony was overseen by BDU’s IoT and Robotics Department Lecturer, Md. Toukir Ahmed.
This collaboration between BDU and Walton signifies a concerted effort to promote innovation and education, benefiting both academia and industry.
