This summer has brought unprecedented heat levels, with temperatures soaring up to 40 degrees Celsius. In response to this extreme weather, Bellissimo launched the “Share the Sweetness” initiative on May 21, 2024, placing water dispensers made from repurposed ice cream tubs at key locations across Dhaka, including Hatirjheel, Bijoy Soroni, Dhanmondi Lake, Dhaka University & Dia Bari to provide drinking water for animals.

These extreme temperatures pose serious threats to health, agriculture, energy, and infrastructure. While many of us can seek refuge in air-conditioned homes, the innocent creatures around us like birds, dogs, cats, and others, are not so fortunate. These creatures, who play vital roles in our ecosystem, are suffering from the intense heat and lack of access to clean drinking water.

Recognizing this urgent need, Bellissimo has stepped up with an innovative solution. Their ice cream tubs, which bring joy to countless people, can find new purpose and meaning even after the last scoop. By repurposing Bellissimo’s 1 litre and 900ml tubs, anyone can create simple water bowls or dispensers for these suffering animals. Placed in gardens, on rooftops, or verandas, and refilled periodically, these tubs are providing much-needed hydration and relief from the scorching heat.
