BGMEA urges home minister to act to prevent highway robbery of RMG goods
At a meeting with Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Saturday, the Senior Vice President of BGMEA, SM Mannan (Kochi), raised concern about the theft of RMG export goods during transportation. Mannan stressed the need for preventing such theft, as it causes financial losses and tarnishes the reputation of the exporters.
Along with Vice President Md. Nasir Uddin, Mannan requested the Home Minister to increase police patrolling on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway to secure the safe transportation of RMG goods. The BGMEA leaders also suggested making the process of reporting theft incidents easier for RMG exporters.

The Home Minister assured the BGMEA leaders that the Home Ministry was addressing the issue, and law enforcement agencies had already made arrests in connection with RMG goods theft. The Home Minister directed the agencies to intensify their efforts to stop such incidents.
