bKash CEO Recognized as a Global Leader in High-Impact Finance

Kamal Quadir, the CEO of bKash, has recently been honored as a distinguished leader in high-impact finance by the esteemed nonprofit organization, Aspen Institute, based in Washington.

The Aspen Institute, renowned for its commitment to fostering a fair, just, and equitable society, has unveiled its prestigious list of Finance Leaders Fellows for 2023, with Quadir being selected among this diverse group of influential leaders who are shaping the future of finance.

The Finance Leaders Fellowship represents a global community of senior finance executives who prioritize values-based approaches and are dedicated to driving transformative changes within the industry for the betterment of society.

This year’s cohort of 23 leaders joins the ranks of over 100 finance fellows from across the globe. Together, they are determined to establish a new cultural paradigm within the finance sector, leveraging its global influence to tackle pressing societal challenges and promote sustainable economic growth. The Aspen Institute emphasized this objective in their recent media release.

Among the other 22 distinguished finance leader fellows in the 2023 class, 12 were selected from the United States, while Canada, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Germany, Malaysia, Romania, and Saudi Arabia each contributed one representative.

Furthermore, all fellows, including Kamal Quadir, will become part of the Aspen Global Leadership Network (AGLN), joining a larger community of over 3,500 values-driven leaders spanning across 60 countries.

Dar Vanderbeck, the acting executive director of the Finance Leaders Fellowship, expressed the significance of this recognition, stating, “The finance ecosystem is a critical foundation that underpins communities of all sizes, influencing lives and livelihoods in every corner of the world. We firmly believe that the global finance industry requires the imaginative thinking and leadership exemplified by these fellows to reinvent itself as a force for good and inclusivity.”
