bKash recently recognized 24 publication houses for their outstanding book sales at the Ekushey Book Fair 2023, honoring their seamless transactions through bKash payments. These awards spanned three distinct categories of publication houses at the fair.
In the ‘Pavilion’ category, five publication houses received the top honor, the ‘Apple Watch Series 8,’ for the highest transactions made via bKash. Notably, Anyaprokash, Oitijjhya, Tamralipi, Shahitya Desh, and Prothoma were among the esteemed winners. Seven other publication houses earned the second prize, a ‘2 days 1-night stay at Hotel Palace for 2 persons,’ including Baatighar, Panjeree, Chamon Prokash, Da pop-up factory, Badhon, Kakoli, and Astitwa. Additionally, twelve publication houses secured the third prize, a ‘Dinner for 2 people at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden,’ such as Gyankosh, Ananya, Nalonda, Somoy, Abosar, Annesha, Kotha Prokash, Agamee, The University Press Ltd., Student Ways, Progoti, and Bishwo Shahitto Kendro.

The prize-giving ceremony took place at the bKash head office in the city, where distinguished figures including renowned publisher Mazharul Islam and representatives from bKash, including Faisal Shaheed, Abhijit Roy, and Md. Jafar Iqubal, were present.
This initiative by bKash aimed to incentivize digital payments among publishers during book sales. The platform’s popularity spans from widespread acceptance in various stores, online marketplaces, local shops, pharmacies, libraries to lifestyle shops. Currently, bKash boasts approximately 600,000 merchants nationwide.
