Pran products started going to the United States in 2004. Export activities started there with the export of canned juice, mango bar, and toast biscuits. Since then, the demand for Pran products has been steadily rising in the United States. Now, in addition to the people of the subcontinent, the products of life are becoming popular among different classes of people including Mexicans and Europeans living in America.
Kamruzzaman Kamal, Director (Marketing) of Pran-RFL Group, said the branding was started in 2014 with the aim of creating and expanding the market for Pran products in the United States. Initially, this branding was limited to New York and New Jersey. But now that Pran’s market is big, Pran Group has started large-scale branding. There are different types of branding highlighting life products among Americans. Now Pran Group has started these branding in different states of America.
Demand for this specialty has grown significantly as a result of recent corporate scandals. However, due to the corona and shipping crisis, the export target was not achieved in 2020, but the demand is increasing by about 30 percent every year.
Kamruzzaman Kamal further said that about 100 types of products are being exported to America. These products are available in about 30 states in the United States. Products include mango fruit drinks, aromatic rice, turnips, mustard oil, noodles, spices, toast, biscuits, dry cakes, lollipops, chocolates, eclairs, potato crackers, and frozen foods parota, samucha, spring rolls.
The United States exports the most products to New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Chicago, Texas, California, Florida, and Atlanta. There are various chain shops and grocery shops including the famous Chainshop Food Town, Food Bazaar, K Food, Patel Bazaar.
