British High Commission in Dhaka hosts England and Bangladesh cricket teams

British High Commission in Dhaka on Saturday held a reception to celebrate the England men’s cricket team’s visit to Bangladesh and the upcoming ODI and T20I cricket series between England and Bangladesh.

The reception was attended by players, technical staff, and coaching staff from both the Bangladesh and England cricket teams.

Guests were welcomed by Javed Patel, the British Deputy High Commissioner, who expressed his delight at the visit of the England cricket team to Bangladesh in 2023 for what is expected to be an exciting series. Patel highlighted Bangladesh’s remarkable passion for cricket, which he had personally experienced, and praised the country’s enthusiasm for the sport.

He also viewed the cricket series as a chance to commemorate the enduring friendship between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom.

After a gap of more than six years, the England cricket team is making a visit to Bangladesh, following the last bilateral ODI series in 2016. The upcoming tour will comprise of three ODIs and three T20Is to be played by both teams in Dhaka and Chattogram.
