Bangladeshi tech giant Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited has launched a new Wi-Fi router model under the “Torongo” brand.
The WR61i model’s standout feature is its dual-band technology, offering high-speed internet through a 5 GHz band. Built with advanced performance technology, this router integrates sophisticated multimedia features for an enhanced user experience.
On Wednesday, during his visit to Walton Headquarters in Chandra, Gazipur, the new router was inaugurated by the Chairman of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), Major General (Retd.) Md. Emdad Ul Bari. Other notable attendees included BTRC Commissioners Brigadier General (Retd.) Iqbal Ahmed and Mahmud Hossain, Directors General Brigadier General Md. Moniruzzaman Jewel and Md. Aminul Haque, Walton Digi-Tech Chairman S.M. Rezaul Alam, Managing Director S.M. Monjurul Alam Ovi, AMD Liakat Ali, and Chief Business Officer Towhidur Rahman Radu.

Earlier that day, a 10-member BTRC delegation led by the Chairman was welcomed with flowers by Walton executives, including AMD Engineer Liakat Ali. The delegation was shown a documentary highlighting Walton’s operations and later toured the product display center, as well as manufacturing facilities for refrigerators, SMT (Surface Mounting Technology), PCB, laptops, mobile phones, and molds. The guests expressed amazement at Walton’s rapid advancements in producing world-class technology products and its success in global branding and exports.
In a press briefing, BTRC Chairman Emdad Ul Bari praised Walton, saying, “Walton’s leadership in technology is a source of national pride. The activities we witnessed today showcase a level of excellence worth sharing globally. Walton is branding Bangladesh in an extraordinary way through its products.”

The newly launched router features four 5 dBi antennas, enhancing signal strength and delivering superior wireless internet transmission. It also incorporates omni-directional technology for robust network coverage across homes and offices. With multi-user, multi-input, multi-output, and OFDMA technologies, the router supports seamless connectivity for multiple devices, providing high-speed internet. Priced at BDT 4,550, the router aims to deliver exceptional value.
