On the occasion of Switzerland’s National Day, celebrated on August 1st, the Swiss Embassy in Bangladesh reaffirmed the strong and evolving ties between the two nations. Reto Renggli, Ambassador of Switzerland to Bangladesh, shared a heartfelt message marking the day, highlighting both the historic roots of Swiss unity and the promising future of bilateral cooperation.

Reflecting on Switzerland’s founding in 1291, Ambassador Renggli emphasized the nation’s journey built on democracy, inclusivity, and innovation. He underlined the growing economic and diplomatic partnership with Bangladesh, particularly noting the over $1 billion in bilateral trade sustained for four consecutive years. With numerous Swiss multinational companies active in Bangladesh, the collaboration has brought not only jobs but also innovation and high-quality products to the local market.
