Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) and Daraz, Bangladesh’s leading e-commerce platform, have officially introduced a co-branded Visa card, marking a significant milestone in their partnership.

The unveiling ceremony took place at the EBL headquarters in the city earlier today.

This strategic collaboration promises to transform the online shopping landscape by leveraging Daraz’s dedication to delivering a secure and convenient online shopping experience, Visa’s extensive global network and cutting-edge technology, and EBL’s customer-centric approach. The co-brand card offers exclusive perks such as special discounts, attractive cashback incentives, and VIP access to promotions and events. Moreover, it ensures secure, swift, and hassle-free transactions, enhancing consumer confidence when making online purchases.

Syed Mostahidal Hoq, the Managing Director of Daraz Bangladesh, expressed his enthusiasm for this innovative venture, stating, “At Daraz, we’ve always placed customers at the heart of our operations. This Co-brand Card underscores our commitment to enhancing the online shopping experience, delivering unparalleled convenience and rewards.”

In addition to Ali Reza Iftekhar, Managing Director and CEO of Eastern Bank PLC, and Syed Mostahidal Hoq, Managing Director of Daraz Bangladesh, the launch event was attended by Soumya Basu, Country Manager of Visa for Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan, as well as Rishi Chhabra, Vice President of Visa and Head of Merchant Sales and Acquiring for India and South Asia. Ahmed Shaheen, AMD, and M. Khorshed Anowar, DMD, Head of Retail and SME Banking at Eastern Bank PLC, as well as Khondoker Tasfin Alam, Chief Operating Officer, and A.H.M. Hasinul Quddus Rusho, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of Daraz Bangladesh, were also present, among others.

Starting from today’s launch date, September 13, 2023, customers can apply for this special co-brand card by visiting their nearest EBL branch or by applying online through the EBL and Daraz websites.
