A four day Ceramic Expo in Bangladesh featured an Exhibitor Night held last Saturday at a five star hotel in Dhaka. During the event, Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Towhid Hossain presented awards to the exhibitors. The expo was organized by the Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturers and Exporters Association. Senior leaders of the association including President Moinul Islam, Exhibition Committee Chairman and General Secretary Irfan Uddin, Senior Vice President Mamunur Rashid and Abdul Hakim were also present.

In his speech as chief guest, Adviser Towhid Hossain said that Bangladesh’s ceramic industry, once fully dependent on imports, has now grown enough to meet local demand and gain a place in the global market. He also noted that foreign investment in the sector is rising, which is a positive development.

This fourth edition of the expo showcased ceramic raw materials, machinery and technology. A total of 135 companies from 25 countries, representing around 300 brands, participated in the exhibition.
