Google Launches BARD AI Chatbot To Compete With ChatGPT
Google has launched Bard (bard.google.com), a new AI chatbot tool that competes with ChatGPT.
Interested users can now sign up on a waitlist to gain access to Bard, which offers assistance in drafting essays, planning baby showers, and suggesting meal ideas based on the contents of one’s fridge.
Bard is designed to function as an independent and complementary tool to Google Search.
Users can cross-reference Bard’s responses or sources with Search as needed. Google intends to integrate large language models more extensively into its search capabilities in a measured and thoughtful manner at a later date.
Google has announced that it will initiate the tool’s rollout in the United States and the United Kingdom, with plans to expand to additional languages and countries in the future.
This development coincides with a trend among tech industry leaders, including Google, Microsoft, and Facebook, to rapidly create and implement AI-powered tools in response to ChatGPT’s recent surge in popularity.
