Grameenphone (GP), a leading smart connectivity provider, has launched Bangladesh’s first fixed wireless access service, ‘gpfi unlimited’, marking a significant milestone in the country’s digital transformation journey.
This innovative solution leverages fixed wireless access (FWA) technology to deliver reliable, high-speed internet connectivity to homes and businesses nationwide, adhering to the Unified Licensing Guidelines.
The launch event featured Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, as the chief guest. Engr Md Mohiuddin Ahmed, chairman of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), attended as a special guest. Key Grameenphone executives, including CEO Yasir Azman and CMO Mohammad Sajjad Hasib, were also present.

‘gpfi unlimited’ aims to bridge the digital divide, offering wireless, fast, reliable, and affordable broadband internet to empower users across Bangladesh. This strategic move addresses the growing demand for high-quality internet access, ensuring seamless connectivity regardless of location.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak highlighted the potential of ‘gpfi unlimited’ to transform Bangladesh’s digital landscape by enhancing connectivity and accessibility, thereby driving socio-economic development. Engr Md Mohiuddin Ahmed emphasized BTRC’s support for technological advancements to modernize the country’s telecommunications infrastructure.
