Grameenphone Ltd, a leading telecommunications company in Bangladesh, has announced its financial performance for the first nine months of 2023, reporting total revenues of Tk 11,845.1 crore. This figure represents a growth of 4.9% compared to the same period in the previous year.
In the third quarter, Grameenphone added 7.61 lakh new subscribers, reaching a total of 8 crore 20 lakh subscribers at the end of the first nine months.
During the quarter, the company invested Tk 278.3 crore in capital expenditures (CAPEX), with a primary focus on expanding its 4G network coverage and deploying the 2600 MHz spectrum.
As of the end of the third quarter, Grameenphone had 21,000 4G sites, providing 97.9% population coverage with its 4G network.
In terms of contributions to the National Exchequer, Grameenphone contributed Tk 9,517 crore, equivalent to 80% of its total revenue. These contributions came in the form of taxes, VAT, duties, licenses, and spectrum assignment fees during the first nine months of 2023.
