Holcim Awards for sustainable construction now open for entries
The globally renowned Holcim Awards for sustainable construction are now accepting entries. According to a press release, $1 million in total prizes ($200,000 per region) will be distributed among the winners of gold, silver, bronze, and acknowledgement prizes in each region.
The submission process requires detailed qualitative and quantitative information to showcase how the project aligns with the foundation’s sustainability goals for construction, including uplifting places, promoting a healthy planet, fostering viable economics, and supporting thriving communities.
Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction is hosting a global competition to recognize and highlight innovative sustainable design practices. The competition provides a platform for architects, engineers, and urban planners to showcase their sustainable designs in real-world applications.

“Holcim Awards competition for Sustainable Construction is a unique opportunity for the design community to share their work and demonstrate the impact it can have on the built environment,” said Laura Viscovich, executive director of the Holcim Foundation. “We are eager to see the submissions from around the world and how they will drive the movement towards a more sustainable future.”
The awards will be presented in five regions: Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, Middle East Africa, and North America. The juries in each region will be chaired by renowned architects and designers, including Tatiana Bilbao, Craig Dykers, Lesley Lokko, Manit Rastogi, and Belinda Tato.
Holcim Foundation aims to inspire and accelerate the global shift towards sustainable construction through the awards program. The foundation is looking forward to reviewing submissions that demonstrate the innovative practices and impactful solutions in sustainable design.
