HSBC Gulshan branch gets LEED platinum certification
The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) Bangladesh’s Gulshan branch was recently certified as a platinum LEED building.
The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building rating system is established by the US Green Building Council and verified by Green Business Certification Inc. In order to be certified, a building must meet certain requirements related to energy efficiency and sustainability.
The Gulshan branch of HSBC Bangladesh fulfilled these requirements, earning the highest level of certification, LEED Platinum.
Yesterday, the bank organised a celebration at the branch to commemorate this achievement, as per the press release. “HSBC’s Gulshan branch has achieved this certification within just one year of operation,” said Mahbub ur Rahman, chief executive officer of HSBC Bangladesh.
Robert Chatterton Dickson, British high commissioner, Atiqul Islam, DNCC mayor, and Tanmi Haque, head of retail banking of HSBC Bangladesh, were all in attendance.
