Huawei Celebrates 25 Years of Success in Bangladesh
Huawei, the multinational technology corporation, celebrated its 25th anniversary in Bangladesh with a special event held on 20 July. During the event, the organization expressed gratitude to its partners and stakeholders for their continuous support over the years.
The celebration was inaugurated by Pan Junfeng, President of Huawei South Asia and CEO of Huawei Bangladesh. Distinguished guests, including government officials and industry stakeholders, graced the occasion, including M A Mannan, Minister of Planning of Bangladesh; Mustafa Jabbar, Minister of Post and Telecommunication of Bangladesh; Yao Wen, Ambassador of China to Bangladesh; Shyam Sunder Sikder, Chairman of BTRC; Md. Shamsul Arefin, Secretary of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division; and Asif Ibrahim, Chairman of Chittagong Exchange Commission.
Since 1998, Huawei has been dedicated to providing ICT and telecommunication services and solutions in Bangladesh, nurturing ICT talents, and fostering the country’s digital ecosystem. Their contributions to the telecom sector have been significant, with the introduction of 2G, 3G, and 4G technologies, and playing a crucial role in the implementation of 5G. Moreover, Huawei has supported the establishment of more than 15,000 Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) with fiber connectivity.

Beyond telecommunications, Huawei has made strides in sustainable energy solutions, with the construction of large-scale IPP and rooftop solar power plants, including the Mymensingh 50 MW solar power plant. These initiatives have led to the generation of approximately 380 million units of renewable electricity.
In addition, Huawei is actively involved in providing AI-based cloud solutions and cutting-edge software and hardware across various sectors, including finance, education, governance, health, media, manufacturing, and transportation.
As Huawei celebrates its milestone in Bangladesh, its commitment to driving technological advancements and contributing to the nation’s development remains unwavering.
