The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) honored 22 organizations across 13 sectors for their exemplary annual reports for 2023, emphasizing transparency and accountability in both financial and non-financial disclosures.
Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, finance and commerce adviser to the interim government, presented the awards at a ceremony today at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka.
In the private sector banking category, Bank Asia and Shahjalal Islami Bank jointly received the gold award, while City Bank earned silver. Brac Bank and United Commercial Bank shared the bronze.
In the financial services sector, IPDC Finance Limited won gold, and IDLC Finance PLC took bronze.
For manufacturing, British American Tobacco Bangladesh secured gold, Walton Hi-Tech Industries won silver, and Reckitt Benckiser (Bangladesh) received bronze.

Additionally, eight entities were awarded “Merit” certificates for meeting the minimum threshold scores. Among the winners, Bank Asia was recognized as the overall winner.
The 11-member jury board, which reviewed reports from 76 entities, recommended the winners for the ICAB National Award, focusing on best annual reports, integrated reporting, and corporate governance disclosures for 2023.
Special guests included Dr. Md Khairuzzaman Mozumder, Finance Division Secretary; Md Selim Uddin, Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce; and Md Abdur Rahman Khan, Secretary of the Internal Resources Division and Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR).

ICAB President Mohammed Forkan Uddin FCA welcomed attendees, and review committee chairman Mohammed Humayun Kabir FCA, alongside co-chairman Md Moniruzzaman, discussed the award evaluation process.
President Uddin highlighted that the ICAB National Award aims to advance good governance, transparent reporting, and thorough disclosures, reflecting ICAB’s dedication to public interest and national economic development.
Other notable awards included:
- Power and Energy Sector: United Power Generation & Distribution Company Ltd (Silver).
- Diversified Holdings Sector: ACI Limited (Bronze).
- Insurance (General): Gold to Green Delta Insurance Company, Silver to Reliance Insurance Limited, and Bronze to City General Insurance Company.
- Insurance (Life): Bronze to National Life Insurance Company Limited.
- NGOs/NPOs: Silver to SAJIDA Foundation and Bronze to Shakti Foundation for Disadvantaged Women.
- Communication & IT: Gold to Robi Axiata Limited, Silver to Grameenphone Ltd, and Bronze to Genex Infosys Limited.
- Service Sector: Bronze to Unique Hotel & Resorts.
- Corporate Governance: Gold to Bank Asia, Silver to Shahjalal Islami Bank, and Bronze to BRAC Bank.
- Integrated Reporting: Gold shared by Bank Asia and Shahjalal Islami Bank, Silver to IDLC Finance, and Bronze to BRAC Bank.
The infrastructure, construction, and agriculture sectors were not awarded due to participating entities not meeting the required threshold scores.
