On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, AKS Diagnostic Centre and AKS Pharmacy were officially inaugurated in Chakaria, Cox’s Bazar, marking a significant milestone in the region’s healthcare development.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Mr. A.K. Shamsuddin Khan, Chairman of AKS Khan Pharmaceuticals Ltd., as the Chief Guest. Mr. Klaus Prebensen, representing Denmark’s Investment Fund for Developing Countries (IFU), attended as the Special Guest, while Ms. Samanjar S. Khan, Managing Director of AKS Khan Pharmaceuticals Ltd., was present as an Honoured Guest. Mr. Al Emran Chowdhury, Director and CEO, conducted the program.

Speakers highlighted Chakaria’s transformation into an emerging urban hub with rising demand for affordable and quality healthcare. The new centre and pharmacy aim to meet that need by improving access to medical services for residents of Chakaria, Maheshkhali, Matarbari, Badarkhali, and nearby regions.

IFU, a strategic investor in AKS Khan Pharmaceuticals Ltd., supports the rollout of over 100 healthcare facilities across Bangladesh. Mr. Prebensen stated, “This joint initiative brings international-standard healthcare to underserved communities—strengthening the overall healthcare system.”
