Junior Chamber International Bangladesh, a youth national organization working to create sustainable positive impact in the country, held this year’s Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) Award ceremony on October 13th at Sheraton Dhaka. Ten young leaders of Bangladesh were awarded in this event for their extraordinary contributions.

Junior Chamber International observes the TOYP award ceremony in 100 countries around the world every year with the goal to recognize the contribution of 10 young people under the age of 40 who have made significant contributions to their respective sectors. Aligned with JCI’s mission to provide leadership development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change, JCI Bangladesh has been actively giving out this award every year.

With the same intentions, TOYP 2023 was held at Sheraton Dhaka where 10 youths of Bangladesh who have made outstanding waves in their sectors this year were awarded in a magnificent ceremony. This year’s awardees were Dr. Sayedul Ashraf Kushal for outstanding contribution in Medical Innovation, Farnaz Alam in Entrepreneurial Accomplishment, Ishtiaq Ahmed in Personal Accomplishment, Mahmudul Hasan Sohag in Academic Leadership, Md. Ruman Shana in Sports Accomplishment, Mehazabien Chowdhury in Cultural Achievement, Mir Shahrukh Islam in Entrepreneurial Accomplishment, Sayma Islam in Economic Accomplishment, Saiful Islam in Personal Accomplishment and Syed Abdullah Jayed in Technological Development.

The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Md. Tajul Islam, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest. The Special Guests were H.E. Lilly Nicholls, High Commissioner for Canada in Bangladesh and H.E. Haji Haris bin Haji Othman, High Commissioner for Brunei Darussalam in Bangladesh. Moreover, JCI Bangladesh National President Ziaul Haque Bhuiyan, TOYP 2023 Event Director and JCI Bangladesh National Treasurer Erfan Haque, JCI Bangladesh Foundation Chairperson Md. Shakawat Hossain Mamun, JCI Bangladesh Foundation Secretary General Niaz Morshed Elite, JCI Bangladesh Deputy National President Imran Kadir, Convener of the event and Executive Assistant to JCI Bangladesh National President Abdullah Safi, Co-conveners of the event and JCI Bangladesh National Vice Presidents Arefeen Raafi Ahmed, Areez Afsar Khan and Md. Altamis Nabil were present and shared their valuable thoughts on the occasion.

Junior Chamber International Bangladesh arranges the Ten Outstanding Young People (TOYP) Award every year to recognize the outstanding achievements of ten young people under the age of 40.

JCI is a worldwide organization of young professionals and leaders between the ages of 18 and 40. The JCI Headquarters is in St. Louis, Missouri, US. JCI Bangladesh is running its operation with around 40 local organizations with a member base of around 5000 and the local organizations are functioning to serve the community, society and at national level.
