M Asif Rahman received the JCI ‘TOYP-2022’ award

M Asif Rahman, founder of WP Developer, received the JCI ‘Toyop-2022’ award.

Mr. M. Asif Rahman, the founder of WP Developer, received an award at the ‘Toyop-2022’ event organized by JCI Bangladesh for his outstanding contribution to the country’s startup ecosystem and information technology business.

On Friday (December 11, 2022) night at a resort in Cox’s Bazar, M. Asif Rahman was officially presented with this honor by the chief guest of the ceremony, Dr. Information Minister. Hasan Mahmud.  M Asif Rahman is both a successful IT entrepreneur and an angel investor who has invested in or founded more than 25 overseas startups.

M. Asif Rahman’s entrepreneurial career began in 2004 with the establishment of software manufacturing company ARCOM, which later expanded to America. In the following years, he started investing in various companies, including Facebook. Among the domestic startups – Geeky Social, Easy.Jobs, Protein Market, Green Grocery, Chalk Pencil, SME Bhai and many more are working as founders or investors. Working as an advisor to BASIS Executive Committee.

Note that JCI Bangladesh has been awarding 10 outstanding young people under the age of 40 every year. Like every year, this program titled Bangladesh JCI Ten Outstanding Young Person (JCI TOP-2022) is organized. JCI is a global organization of young leaders aged 18-40 who are dedicated to creating positive change in themselves and the world.

JCI has over 150,000 active members in 105 countries. According to the 2020 survey, 63.7 percent of the population in Bangladesh is under 35 years of age.

JCI Bangladesh believes that by encouraging young entrepreneurs, it is possible to turn this segment of the population into manpower. JCI organized this award ceremony to encourage young people to take up business ventures.
