M. Riyaaz Rasheed, the current Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Robi Axiata PLC, has been appointed as the Acting CEO, effective February 1, 2025, following a decision by the company’s board of directors.
Rajeev Sethi, the current CEO, will transition to a new role within the Axiata Group, according to a notification sent to the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission. Sethi, who took over as CEO in October 2022, will now step aside after a brief tenure.

Rasheed had previously served as Acting CEO of Robi Axiata from August 2021, following the resignation of Mahtab Uddin Ahmed. Before joining Robi, Sethi held the position of CEO at Ooredoo, Myanmar’s leading mobile operator.
This leadership change marks a significant shift for Bangladesh’s second-largest mobile operator, Robi Axiata, as it continues to navigate the competitive telecom market.
