Mahbub Wins Nagad’s BMW Car in Dhaka

Dhaka’s Pahlowan Mahbub Haider Wins BMW Car in Nagad’s Mega Payment Campaign

In a grand event held at a city hotel, the winner of Nagad’s mega payment campaign was formally announced by Posts and Telecommunications Minister, Mustafa Jabbar. The lucky recipient, Pahlowan Mahbub Haider from Dhaka, was presented with the coveted BMW car amidst much excitement and celebration.

The campaign, organized by Nagad, a popular mobile financial service in Bangladesh, received an overwhelming response from people all over the country. A total of 45,39,055 votes were cast during the campaign, with customers voting for their favorite candidates from a shortlist of 71 individuals, who were selected through random phases using ‘Bangla AI’.

Mahbub Haider emerged as the clear winner with an astounding 4,73,027 votes, securing the highest number of votes given by Nagad customers across the nation. Sylvia Yaseen from Chattogram came in second with 4,11,813 votes, and Saidur Rahaman Sohel from Cox’s Bazar secured the third position with 3,34,099 votes.

The campaign, which started in late March and concluded on June 30, witnessed an unprecedented surge in Nagad’s transactions, primarily in the form of merchant payments and mobile recharge, breaking records during the three-month period.

Founder and Managing Director of Nagad Limited, Tanvir A Mishuk, emphasized that the BMW campaign was not just a promotional event but a significant initiative to propel the nation towards a Smart Bangladesh, fostering the establishment of a cashless society.

During the campaign, a show titled ‘Ke Jitbe BMW?’ (Who will win BMW?) was aired on multiple TV channels, featuring popular celebrities and social media influencers as guests. Bangladesh Cricket Team’s star cricketer, Mushfiqur Rahim, graced the final episode as a special guest.

To ensure diverse representation, Mushfiqur suggested including at least one person from each district in the final list. As a result, the number of shortlisted candidates was raised to 71, representing various regions of the country.

In addition to the grand BMW car, Nagad handed out several Sedan cars, nearly 500 motorbikes, and various exciting gifts such as refrigerators, smart televisions, mobiles, smartwatches, and headphones to the campaign winners. These prizes were presented by beloved celebrities, including Bangladesh National Cricket Team’s ODI captain, Tamim Iqbal Khan, and television stars. Moreover, Nagad personally visited the homes of many winners to deliver their prizes in a truly special way.

The event received congratulatory messages from prominent figures, including three cricketers of the Bangladesh National Team: Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, and Mushfiqur Rahim, who extended their warm wishes to the BMW winner and other participants through separate video messages.
