MGI Brand Ambassador Avik Anwar had a spectacular start to the Gulf Pro Car championship 2023-24 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
He managed to clinch victory in both races during Round 1, despite facing some initial challenges.
While the performance of the Bangladesh men’s cricket team in the ongoing World Cup has left many disappointed, Avik Anwar brought a much-needed moment of glory for the country on the racing track.
Competing at the renowned Yas Marina F1 track, Avik faced stiff competition from 12 participants hailing from the UK, France, Germany, and local racers from Abu Dhabi. Avik’s journey to the UAE for the race was marked by an unexpected detour, as he had to rush there from Montreal due to a family emergency.
In the first race, Avik encountered a tough start when his car faltered. However, he displayed remarkable resilience and managed to make a remarkable comeback, ultimately winning the race.

“Race 2 presented even more challenges as the other participants intensified their competition. However, by this time, my car was in optimal condition, and they couldn’t outpace me,” Avik shared.
Notably, just last month, Avik secured a commendable third place (P3) in the Malaysian Championship series, where he raced solo for 300 kilometers over three hours, showcasing his exceptional racing skills and determination.
