MoU signed for project on rainwater harvesting technology and utilization of rainwater
WaterAid and the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralyzed (CRP) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to advance a project centered on rainwater harvesting technologies.
The project, titled “Promoting Water Replenishment and Wash Services,” aims to improve groundwater replenishment and better utilization of rainwater.
The collaboration aims to install climate-resilient rainwater harvesting technology, establish an effective operation and maintenance mechanism, and ensure sustainable water use provision.
The initiative will operate at the Savar campus of CRP for five years until March 4, 2028.

The collaboration aims to increase groundwater recharge and introduce the non-drinking use of rainwater at the institutional level.
The joint effort is expected to develop CRP as a knowledge hub for rainwater harvesting systems and managing aquifer recharge.
Over 30 thousand people, including patients attending CRP, are expected to benefit from the project.
The initiative is financially supported by the Coca-Cola Foundation, and it aims to transform CRP as a green campus and establish it as a replicable model for other stakeholders.
The signing event took place on March 5, and the project aims to address the 26% water supply deficit during dry seasons by the year 2030 in Bangladesh.
