National mobile browser Torjoni launched on March 7

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department has launched a national mobile browser (website viewing app) ‘Torjoni’ to provide easy internet access in Bengal.

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed inaugurated the browser at the Computer Council (BCC) auditorium at Agargaon in the capital on Tuesday. At this time, he said, “Today is historical March 7. A unique day in the history of freedom struggle and liberation war of Bengali nation.

On this day in 1971, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman called for Bangladesh’s freedom struggle at the historic Race Course Maidan (now Suhrawardy Udyan).

And so on the occasion of March 7, the initiative of the ICT department launched the national mobile browser index. We are now entering Smart Bangladesh from Digital Bangladesh.

To get the benefits of this smart Bangladesh, we should not depend only on foreign services. We have to be self-reliant. We want to create a smart Bangladesh ecosystem, which will be self-sustaining.

The browser has been launched for that independent smart Bangladesh. In the future, its own operating system will also be launched.

It was informed on the occasion that the index browser has been developed under the project of ‘Establishment of Secure E-mail and Digital Literacy Center for the Government of Bangladesh’ of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the ICT Department.

The feature of the browser is that it has Bengali language, and its Bengali optimization is stronger than other browsers. English language can also be selected in the browser.

The browser has various features like index search bar, dark mode, tabs, stop ads, bookmarks, privacy of personal information, incognito for easy internet usage.

The browser can be downloaded for free from Apple’s App Store and Google Play Store. A desktop version of the browser will also be launched in the future.
